What is Baby Dedication?

The Baby Dedication ceremony is a time when parents publicly express their commitment to raise their child in a home that honors Christ. It's also a special moment for the people of the Christ Church community to pledge their love and support for each family. Dedication is not a means of securing salvation nor a time for baptism for the child, but rather a commitment by the parents to model Biblical lifestyles and to care for their child’s spiritual, physical, and emotional well-being.

The dedication ceremony gives the parents an opportunity to: Publicly affirm their personal faith in Christ and renew their dedication to Him and His Word. Commit to pray daily for God’s direction in their lives and in the lives of their child.  Commit to teach their child, by word and example, the truths of God’s Word.  Pray that their child grows in a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
